Default Tristano’s free Hanoi show to mark Luxembourg’s National Day

Composer/pianist Francesco Tristano will perform a free concert at the Hanoi Opera House on Thursday, 23 June 2011, to mark the National Day of Luxembourg, reports the Vietnam News Agency.
The program is co-organized by the Vietnam Performing Arts Center and the Embassy of Luxembourg in Hanoi.

The Luxembourg pianist will showcase his talents in some works of J.S.Bach (1685-1750) and many self-composed works.

Tristano is one of the last students at New York’s Juilliard School to complete Bach legend Rosalyn Tureck’s master class. He also studied at the music academies in Brussels, Riga, Paris and Luxembourg as well as the ESMUC in Barcelona. In 2004, he won the first prize at the International piano competition for contemporary music in Orleans, France.

Tristano has released twelve albums which have gained much appreciation from the public and critics.

At twilight ,when the cuckoo sings no more,
The Maiden with her rake goes in at door
And lays her down between the lamplit walls,
While a chill rain against the window falls.
