That makes sense, now. I noticed people called them FC Dallas sometimes, but I just assumed that was an alternate name for the Burn. (You know, like FC Dallas Burn or something like that.) I never knew what the correct name was, since I didn't know they changed it somewhere along the way.
My guess is they changed it from Dallas Burn (which sounds like an American sports franchise) to FC Dallas, so it would sound more like a European soccer franchise. Guess they didn't want to copy DC United when it copied Manchester United, and I guess FC Dallas sounded better (and certainly made more sense) than Real Dallas or Inter Dallas.
