Default The Thames Festival

The Thames Festival celebrates London and the iconic river at its heart – the Thames – by dancing in the streets, feasting on bridges, racing on the river and playing at the water’s edge.

The Mayor’s Thames Festival is London’s largest outdoor arts festival - a spectacular event, free to all, which brings together Londoners of all ages and from all communities to celebrate their city and the River Thames.

Highly valued by the Mayor of London, London boroughs and the Arts Council, the Thames Festival is one of the capital’s most-loved events, giving Londoners a fabulous free weekend of arts, spectacle and entertainment, and generating a feel-good factor that is second to none.

The Line-up across all the music stages looks better than any other previous year with the best of London’s underground music scene, some amazing new bands and DJs, all programmed by The Shrine’s Elliott Jack, Max Reinhardt & Rita Ray.

There have been some major changes in entertainment for 2011 - including a reversal of the Night Carnival route. This will now have its finale on the north bank of the river, providing more space for artists to make their illuminated floats and sections even more stunning.

This festival offers everything to all ages and is a fantastic day out for individuals and families.
