Okay, you probably all know the story by now. However, let's recap for those who may have missed it.

Stars player Sean Avery was doing a televised interview. He decided to have a little fun at the expense of hockey rival Dion Phaneuf. It just so happens that Phaneuf is dating Elisha Cuthbert (24), a former girlfriend of Avery's.

Avery proceeded to comment that Phaneuf was dating "my sloppy seconds."

This didn't go over well, and Avery was suspended for 6 games. Then it was announced that Avery's contract with the Stars had been cancelled. According to the Star, "All parties said there is a clear understanding that a return to the Stars is not in the best interest of either the hockey club or Avery."

So what gives? Did Sean Avery get screwed or what?
