I am a lap-band patient. I had the surgery in August and so far I have lost over 100 pounds. I have a lot further to go (about 300 pounds) But I want to say that it is working. There is a great support site if you are considering the band or any other weight loss surgery FatBlog.Org - Weight Loss Surgery Forum - Index. Its a great resource and gives real life answers from real life patients.

Pros: You don't feel as hungry. You lose weight (if you follow the doctor's instructions). If you stop losing weight, you go to you doctor and get more saline added to the band (it is adjustable). It gives the person doing it a new lease on live (at least it did me.) Cons: No carbonated beverages, ever. No diet soda, no beer, no champagne, No bread, but crackers and chips are ok (although chips are not recommended), Some insurance companies will not cover the procedure, but this is slowly changing. And in my opinion, the first 2 pros outweigh (no pun intended) all of the listed and any others that I forgot! |

I have never had it done but if I were you I would think about roux-en-y bypass because it has been around longer than lapband and doctor's know more about it in general. Also with lapband, I would think there are more complications to it because it has to be readjusted and doctors make more money from it in the long run because it requires frequent adjustments.

The trolley features a compact remote that allows you adjust the speed of the trolley according to your walking speed. It also allows you to move the trolley in all the four directions besides providing you a simple double tap action knob to increase the speed on demand.
