Jonah Hex will be directed by Jimmy Hayward (Horton Hears a Who). This will be his first live-action project.
The script was written by Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine. They were also scheduled to direct, but they dropped out over creative differences (don'tknow if that's a bad sign or not). In case you're not familiar with Jonah Hex, he's a gunslinger and bounty hunter who wears a Confederate army uniform and has the right side of his face horribly disfigured. He has been featured in DC Comics for years, and he's even had his own series (although no longer). The script is said to pit Hex against supernatural elements. If done right, this could be like The Outlaw Josey Wales on steroids. If botched, it could really suck. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

As long as they don't get Tom Cruise or somebody to star in the movie. Cruise would refuse to have the makeup people give him the distinctive Jonah Hex disfigurements.
Anyone have suggestions about who would make a good Jonah Hex? |

At a time, Josh Brolin was supposed to play the part. However, I don't know if he's still attached to the project. The article I read mentioned nothing about him, so he may have already dropped out.

But I think someone edgier would be great in the role. I'm thinking Vin Diesel would be cool, but I could also see Timothy Olyphant or John Cusack as Jonah Hex. |

Maybe Hex will talk in rhymes.
