Patrick McGoohan has passed away at the age of 80 following a short illness. He is best remembered for the following work: - The lead character in the 60's series Secret Agent. - Portrayed Number 2 in the cult series The Prisoner. - Played the evil Longshanks in Mel Gibson's Braveheart.

Hate to hear of his passing. I own the entire series of The Prisoner, and I feel it's one of the greatest programs to ever air on television. Just brilliant. There's no telling how many shows it would later influence. McGoohan was a true genius, but I don't think he ever got the proper level of credit.
He was also a great villain in Braveheart. "The problem with Scotland is all the Scots." Great line. |

I've seen some of the Secret Agent episodes and enjoyed them.
I have to agree with Azumi, though. His finest work was no doubt The Prisoner. I first discovered this show when I was in high school. I was such a geek about the show that I actually clipped out a little pic of No. 6 and taped in on the interior of my car. I know that's nerdy beyond belief, but that's how big of a fan I was.
