I've been reading "The Killer Inside Me" by Jim Thompson none stop the last few days and have been enjoying the story so far. I'm not a book worm by any means and not too familiar with different writing styles but it seems to me that this book was not exactly well written.
What are your opinions? The author uses a lot of short sentences which I thought may correlate with way the main character thinks or processes thoughts. |

I'm really enjoying it so far. I think it's pretty well-written, although the style seems a little dated. It was written in the 1950's, and it's one of those "hard-boiled" crime novels from that era. I'm only about 80 pages in though. I might change my mind before it's over.
