Default Carmelo Anthony With A Broken Hand?

Anthony's injury a major blow - The Denver Post

If Carmelo's shooting hand is broke, looks like the Nuggets' playoff hopes are already in the crapper.

That's a shame, too. I wanted to see if the Nuggets could keep up their momentum in the wake of the Iverson-for-Billups trade. I thought they were proving what a veteran, professional point guard could do for a team formerly of talented "individuals".

I still wonder what the last five years would have looked like if Billups and Anthony had been teammates on the Pistons, like they probably should have been. The Pistons won a title and were contenders for the last five years, but they passed over Carmelo Anthony (#3 pick) for Darko Milicic (#2).

Somehow, I think Carmelo coming off the bench (or starting and have Tayshawn or one of the Wallaces come off the bench) would have been enough for one other title, and maybe more. Maybe not.

Of course, the Pistons missed the boat on several players. Chris Bosh went #4 and Dwyane Wade (still silly spelling) went #5.
