On Thursday, it was announced that Tigers centerfielder Curtis Granderson will be representing his country in the upcoming World Baseball Classic. The U.S. has their first game in two months (versus Canada).
According to Granderson (or his
PR person), "It means a lot to me. We are talking about representing my country. It is an honor to be considered among the best in our nation, and to be able to represent my country on the field in an amazing event. We are trying to make the game of baseball a more globalized game, and it is humbling to be a part of that process."
Granderson is expected to play with Cleveland's Grady Sizemore in centerfield.
