There seem to be ten thousand solar panel manufacturers and sellers and hundreds of different types of panels . Which panels are the most efficient and cost-effective?
Who do we go to in order to get the best solar panel components for re-assembly.
Is there anybody out there who can advise me on this?

Honestly, it is because solar panels alone are too unreliable (cloudy days, etc.) and WAY too expensive to use and maintain. It would not be economically feasible.

I think the point you're trying to make is that solar electricity is more expensive than other means of mass produced electricity today, and I would agree. However, that doesn't mean that solar panels are not worthwhile, especially to a consumer in the right location.
