I think the thing that really stood out about Tin Cup was how well they seemed to capture the vibe of living in a small town in the middle of nowhere. From dining at the Waffle House to just killing time at the driving range, the characters mostly seemed happy to just drift through life (at least until Rene Russo shows up).
As usual, Costner was highly likable. Cheech Marin was also a hoot.
